LEES SUMMIT GOES SMOKE FREE

Lee’s Summit voters strengthened the city’s new smoke free ordinance on November 7, 2006.  The city council had passed a smoke free ordinance that made most workplaces and restaurants smoke free in August 2006.  However, a handful of bars and private clubs were exempted.   The new measure, approved by 70% of the city voters, will now require all workplaces, restaurants and bars to be smoke free, including the previously exempted establishments.
