PRAIRE VILLAGE - Latest News

The Kansas legislature passed the Kansas Clean Indoor Air Act making all public places and workplaces statewide smoke free, including restrictions in bars and restaurants.  The law becomes effective on July 1, 2010, and provides exemptions for private clubs in existence before Jan. 1, 2009, tobacco retail shops, 20% of hotel rooms and casino floors throughout the state.

The comprehensive 2008 smoking ordinance in Prairie Village will reman fully intact.  This ordinance does not allow exemptions for private clubs or retail tobacco shops.

We would like to thank the Prairie Village City Council and citizens for taking the initiative with their 2008 smoking ordinance.
