OVERLAND PARK, KS - Latest News

The Kansas legislature passed the Kansas Clean Indoor Air Act making all public places and workplaces statewide smoke free, including restrictions in bars and restaurants.  The law becomes effective on July 1, 2010, and provides exemptions for private clubs in existence before Jan. 1, 2009, tobacco retail shops, 20% of hotel rooms and casino floors throughout the state.

The 2008 Overland Park smoking ordinance allowed exemptions for retail tobacco shops.  There is no exemption for private clubs within Overland Park.

We would like to thank the Overland Park City Council members and citizens for taking the intiative with their 2008 smoking ordinance.
