Blue Springs - Latest News The Blue Springs City Council voted unanimously on February 4, 2008 to prohibit smoking at workplaces and restaurants.  The ordinance, which went into effect May 1, 2008, excludes bars, adult establishments with games such as pool halls, bowling alleys, and private clubs. A group of citizens is considering a petition to place a measure on the ballot that would extend the ordinance to bars, pool halls, and similar establishments.
