Raytown

Raytown - Latest News The Raytown Board of Aldermen on September 8th defeated by a vote of 7-3, a proposed smoking ordinance. The ordinance, which was created by a citizen committee, would have prohibited smoking in public places but it would have exempted some bars and establishments with separate smoking areas.  Councilman Jim Aziere reminded the Board of a 2007 survey of Raytown citizens who overwhelmingly supported a smoking ordinance for public places.    Raytown is a classified as a 4th class city which means a petition initiative for a smoke free ordinance is not possible.  Join Clean Air Metro KC for Updates on action in your city
