GLADSTONE - Latest News

Gladstonefinalized its smoking ordinance on February 23, 2009 but not without one final amendment.  The amendment stated that there would be a sunset date on the existing businesses that hold liquor licenses.  Those businesses were given three years to file for the exemption before they have to comply with the new law.  The expanded ordinance takes effect February 23, 2012. The smoking ordinance exempts bowling alleys, billiard halls, and businesses that seat 50 people or less as long as the signs are posted.  These exemptions are not included in the 36-month sunset.
